Heather was raised in the Muskegon Area, attending Mona Shores High School. After her time at Mona Shores, she went on to study business administration, public policy and administration, and the humanities at Valparaiso University, where she graduated with high honors in 2012. Following her time at Valparaiso, Heather went to Michigan State University College of Law where she eventually graduated with her Juris Doctorate and Masters of Jurisprudence and Legal Analysis with honors in 2015. Heather was heavily involved in the highly-competitive Trial Practice Institute at MSU Law, where the emphasis was on litigation and courtroom presentation.
Heather has previously worked for the Michigan Court of Appeals as a Research Attorney. Most recently, Heather was employed as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Muskegon County, where over the course of her time there she practiced in each division of the Prosecutor’s Office. Notably, Heather was Muskegon County’s dedicated prosecutor for cases involving elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. Heather has handled cases in every level of courtroom Michigan has – from traffic tickets all the way to the Michigan Supreme Court.
Heather loves the lakeshore, and in her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons exploring the outdoor beauty that West Michigan has to offer.
