Attorney Biography

Jonathan R. Hoogstra was raised in North Muskegon and attended Western Michigan Christian High School from 2000 to 2004.  From 2004 to 2008 Jon attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science and minors in Business, Philosophy and Theology.  From 2008 to 2011 Jon attended Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he received a Juris Doctorate and focused on Environmental Law, Commercial Development and Real Estate.

Jon has experience as a small business owner, defense contractor and administrative compliance reporter.  From 2011 to 2013 Jon advised and represented over one hundred indigent clients for Legal Aid of Western Michigan.

In his spare time Jon enjoys spending time with his wife, playing basketball and enjoying Lake Michigan.  Jon has returned to Muskegon with the intent to serve his community and his clients by providing sound legal solutions to complex real world problems.
